Our Story
Sunny Hill Farm LLC was established in 2000 and is owned and operated by the Grubb family. The barn property was previously known as Tailgate Farm and was home to the late iconic jumper trainer Chris Borba.
The Grubb family strives to create a friendly barn environment where our horses and riders flourish. Patti and Ed Grubb own Sunny Hill Farm and take great joy in the farm and its community. Jennifer Grubb-Reed manages Sunny Hill Farm and has been an avid equestrian since childhood. She is an accomplished competitor on the show circuit for over 30 years as well as a sport horse breeder. Jennifer and her husband Aaron (owner of Rockridge Farm Horse Transport) live at the farm and share their love for horses while enjoying the serenity of the property.
Sunny Hill Farm takes great pride in their dedicated employees. Our foreman has worked with us for more than 25 years and our other loyal employees have been with us for more than 10 years. Their daily commitment and hard work are evident in the beautifully maintained facility.
The Grubb family is committed to providing a professional and family oriented atmosphere at Sunny Hill Farm, a haven for both horse and rider.
“Sunny Hill Farm is the most beautiful and well run facility I have found in over 30 years of horse ownership. The warm environment and picturesque property cannot be matched anywhere in the East Bay. I would highly recommend Sunny Hill Farm to anyone looking for a training facility in the Walnut Creek area.”
